Triangle UFO Aug 22 , 2010 Fresno Calif..

A triangle-shaped UFO was captured on video by two California witnesses August 22, 2010, as the object came in north of Fresno, and headed south over Sanger, according to a statement by Jeffrey Gonzalez, Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) California State Section Director, and founder of the Sanger Paranormal Society.

Sanger states that MUFON has not yet investigated the case.

Malmstrom UFO / Nuke Encounters in the book ‘Faded Giant’

Robert Salas co-authored Faded Giant: The 1967 Missile/UFO Incidents with James Klotz. In this UFO Chronicles article Mr. Salas describes how Klotz’s Freedom of Information Act request led to Salas’ own reports of UFO interference with nuclear missiles at Malmstrom Air Force Base.

“In March 1967, all ten of the ‘Minuteman I’ missiles under my control were disabled while an oval shaped UFO hovered at close range over the front gate of my launch control center in Montana. I was sworn to secrecy about this incident until 1994 when the U.S. Air Force declassified a similar incident at the request of my investigator, Jim Klotz under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). At that time, I believed the declassified incident of ‘Echo Flight’ to be the one in which I was involved. As a result of receiving declassified documents from AF records about the Echo incident, I began to publicly disclose what I recalled.

Later, after contacting other witnesses regarding these events, I realized I had been at an entirely different Launch Control Center, Oscar Flight, at the time of my incident; during my assignment at Malmstrom AFB I was not aware of the Echo Flight incident. I did recall that a similar incident had occurred because of a vivid memory of my crew commander, Fred Meiwald: he turned to me and said, “The same thing happened at another flight” after reporting our incident to the Base Command Post. Because of remembering that statement I wrote in Faded Giant that both flights of missiles went inoperative on the same day. However, I later learned that what he meant to say was that the same thing had happened on a previous date. My evidence of the facts of these events follows…”

Last week’s directive by the Brazilian government ordering its air traffic controllers, as well as military and civilian pilots, to file all UFO reports into a central database runs counterintuitive to U.S. policy. But the announcement didn’t surprise Dr. John Petersen.

“The Arlington Institute founder/director John Petersen says the adult conversation could begin if NASA places its UFO photos in the public domain.”

“I don’t think anything stays the same as it is, and there’s a growing kind of awareness on this subject around the world,” says Petersen, founder of a nonprofit futurist think tank called The Arlington Institute. “It’s inevitable that humans — and Americans — will get to a place where this issue can be discussed openly, in a non-threatening manner.

“It’s demeaning to presume that most people will freak out or somehow panic when this reality is confirmed. When I talk about it with my wife, she goes, ‘What’s the big deal, I don’t understand. Are we going to stop shopping, are we going to go to work in a different way? What?’”

Bulgarian UFO Redux – Filipov Plot Thickens

Paranormal talk show host Kevin Smith contacted me yesterday to take issue with one of the sources I cited in my story about Bulgarian Academy of Science (BAS) Deputy Director Lachezar Filipov. It may seem a small thing to casual observers, but Smith broke, and pretty much owns, this story in the United States, so I’m going to give him equal time.In my article, I cited a report published November 26, 2009 in London’s Telegraph. According to that report, Filipov’s team of scientists was “analysing 150 crop circles from around the world, which they believe answer” 30 questions they’d posed to extraterrestrials.

Smith contends that the crop circle reference was fabricated by the Telegraph. His proof of the fabrication is a story published November 23, 2009 by the Sofia Echo in which no reference to crop circles is made.

According to the Echo, “It was even claimed that some alien species were present during a media statement in which they had answered more than 30 questions put forward by Bulgarian Academy of Science (BAS) personnel.”

Quite a difference.

I agree with Smith’s concern that the subsequent Telegraph article omitted what would seem to be the most remarkable aspect of the story – that extraterrestrials personally answered questions posed by BAS personnel.

Another article , however, also dated November 23 and also Bulgarian (Sofia news agency Novinite), does refer to crop circles, but fails to mention the question-answer session. So as far as I’m concerned, the jury remains out on whether Filipov’s team has any interest in crop circles. It isn’t as if the two scenarios (crop circle study and alien interview) are mutually exclusive.

But forget the crop circles.

Or actually, remember the crop circles and riddle me this:

Why, immediately after telling Smith by phone that he felt it was his “duty” to grant an interview about the extraterrestrial encounter, did Filipov stop accepting calls? Why was this email, partially discounting the Bulgarian press reports, sent that same day (November 23) from Filipov’s account to a number of researchers, including Smith? And why, when he resurfaced ten days later, did an apparently sleep-deprived Filipov tell a television reporter that, if he answered questions about the encounter, he’d be killed?

Smith’s theory is that the Bulgarian KGB (Darzhavna Sigurnost) ”handled” Filipov, altered press accounts of the alien encounter and was responsible for the email sent from Filipov’s account, and I’m inclined to believe him.

On 6 April 1966, in the Melbourne suburb of Westall, about 200 students, staff and local residents watched as a strange object appeared overhead, landed briefly nearby, then took to the sky and vanished. The event took about twenty minutes. Witnesses described the object as low flying, silver-gray and shiny, and shaped like a ‘cup turned upside down on a saucer’. There were five light aircraft apparently tracking or ‘shadowing’ it. The incident was reported on the television news that night and in the local newspapers.
