Austin MUFON Local File#920323-1
SUBJECT: Sighting Of Triangular UFO
TYPE OF REPORT: General
DATE OF REPORT: May 26, 1992
DATE OF UFO SIGHTING: February 25, 1990
TIME OF UFO SIGHTING: 10:30PM CST
PLACE OF SIGHTING: Wimberley, Hays County, Texas, USA
LOCAL ELEVATION: Unknown of Ordinary Significance
FIELD INVESTIGATOR: T. David Spencer

SIGHTING ACCOUNT: “Scott was visiting his parents just west of Wimberley, Texas during the weekend of February 24-25, 1990. The area is farmed out but is also generally wooded near the Blanco Bend River. Between 10:00 and 10:30pm on the aforementioned date, Scott was walking home from a nearby Dairy Queen. He was aware of the time because he had just gotten a new watch recently and was looking at it frequently. It was a quiet, dark and very cool evening with clear skies and bright stars. The new moon occurred on this night so the sky was moonless.
Scott happened to look skyward in order to observe some of the constellations, “And there it was!”, he said. His first thought was, What the hell is THAT?” He was not afraid, he said, but was amazed. He had considered himself to be sceptical about UFO’s, so the experience was impressive and highly elating.

The object was triangular in shape, but it was as if the points of the triangle had been cut off. The cut was perpendicular to the bisection of the anglefor the leading apex, and the other two points were either cut the same as the leading apex or cut perpendicular to the trailing edge of the UFO.

Scott raised his arm to an angle of about 60° as an indication of the initial zenith angle relative to him. He could see only the underside surface of the object and it was glowing faintly orange over it’s entirety, like very hot metal. There were no lights and no visible protuberances, but Scott did appear to notice what appeared to be geometric shapes on the surface, formed with straight lines. He believes that these were part of the objects structure, rather than decals (painted). He said that the object was “remarkably similar” to those depicted in the “Unsolved Mysteries” segment on Belgium UFO’s.

Scott aproximated the arms-length size of the object to be 4″-4.5″ (or 10-12 times the size of a full moon). He guessed that the object must have been over 1000 feet away, but then indicated that he was not too good with scales or distances.
The vehicle was moving very slowly and in a straight line from south to north (from his right to his left) perpendicular to his walking direction. There was no sound of any kind from the vehicle or otherwise-including no dogs barking. (Any dogs barking would probably have been due to the presence of the object.)
He was so taken by the once sighting that he never once gave thought to the possibility that other such objects may have been in the area. Scott said that he must have watched the object for ten minutes before it passed out of site behind the trees. It never changed speed, direction or altitude during that time. After the object disappeared from view, Scott continued to stand and look for several minutes, totally awestruck by the experience.

Immediately upon returning home, Scott called the Hays County Sheriff’s Department and reported the sighting. The Dispatcher told him that THERE HAD BEEN OTHER CALLS REGARDING A UFO SIGHTING THAT VERY EVENING!
Later, early Monday morning, Scott called a local Austin FM Radio Station and told a DJ friend of his sighting. After watching the NBC Network’s UNSOLVED MYSTERIES program on the Belium UFO’s during the late fall of 1991, Scott called their 800 number and reported his sighting.

In March Of 1992, Scott called an Austin Parapsychology group who referred him to someone named John (doesn’t remember last name). John pointed Scott to some woman (name not remembered) who referred him to Austin MUFON. On March 23, 1992, Scott called Austin MUFON and told Mrs. Ellen Stuart of his sighting. Ellen provided an outline of the sighting to me on March 28, 1992 at a regular MUFON meeting. Scott also called the Hays County Sheriff’s Department to get more information on the UFO sighting. He was told that they had no record of his report or any other report of the UFO.

On May, 25, 1992 at 2:00pm CST, I met with Scott at his residence and received his report.”

screaming whistle with bright light hit windshield with a shocking vibrating noise and disappeared.

Sitting at a stop light I heard a loud whistle, like something I’ve heard in a fireworks display, at the same time a round light hit my windshield and fluttered really loud like a shock sound. I thought my convertible top was fried, so I pulled over to the nearest parking lot. My top was untouched and my windshield was clean.

On Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at 8:50 p.m., eyewitness M.R. reported, “I was coming home from a fishing trip in Sargent, Texas. I had just turned off FM587 on to FM2611 when, all of a sudden, the lights in my car blinked twice, and then the car went dead.”

“I coasted to a stop at the top of a small hill that was a curve. I was frightened. For one, I am female and was traveling alone, and I was in the middle of nowhere. I thought that the reason for the power giving out in my car was because my brother had been using my car battery earlier in the day and may not have tightened the battery cables properly.”

“I didn’t have a flashlight (torch in UK–J.T.) on me and I grabbed my cell phone to let someone know what had happened. Then I decided to get out of the car, knowing that my cell phone had a bright light on it, and I was going to check the battery cables.”

“Before I could open my cell phone to turn it on, a bright bluish glow started to light up a wooded area across the highway from me. At first I thought it was another vehicle coming up behind me, and I panicked for a moment because my car had stopped on top of the hill on a curve, and, if the vehicle was coming up the curve too fast, it would hit me.”

“But I realized quickly that it was not another vehicle. I couldn’t quite identify the light, but the woods got suddenly brighter. The light went bright like a blue-white light bulb. It was more like the light from a giant blue flashlight or helicopter (search) light.”

“I watched it slowly start moving upward through the trees. I sat in complete silence while I watched it move up out of the trees until it was above the trees and clearly in the sky with the stars for a background. It was a huge bluish translucent ball of light, with the center of the ball much darker than the outer edges.”

“The outer edges of the ball seemed to vibrate or tremble slightly. It continuously rose up into the sky, at first slowly, but, the higher it got, the faster it went. Which was straight up into the sky until it disappeared.”

“I sat in the silent darkness for a few seconds and then turned my car keys, which I had never taken out of the ignition switch, and the car started right up.”

The UFO “was about 30 to 40 feet (9 to 12 meters) up. It was huge, maybe 30 to 40 feet (9 to 12 meters) across, but I could be mistaken. It was much larger than my car– a Volvo DL wagon. I resumed my drive to Sweeny, Texas.”

Sargent is in Matagorda County, on Texas’s Gulf of Mexico shore about 40 miles (64 kilometers) southwest of Galveston. (Email Form Report)

Expert Says East Texas Is Hotbed For UFO Sightings, Has Video To Prove It

For as long as there have been cameras, folks have captured on film what they say might be from another world.

Or, they say the UFOs might be a secret aircraft the government doesn’t want us to know about.

Despite the true answer, the fascination with the strange objects in the sky is stronger than ever, mainly because of the internet.

B.J. Booth says it’s just a great mystery.

What is this in the East Texas sky?

“We know there are many objects that are seen, photographed, and videotaped by reputable individuals.”

Booth speaks for a man in Kaufman County — a man named Larry who doesn’t want the spotlight. He just took these pictures, and video.

“To be honest, I don’t even know his name. Just Larry,” Booth says.

Over the past few years, Booth says his video shows objects that defy explanation. Like a strange white object moving toward a low flying plane.

“He was picking up some objects in his camera that he wasn’t really seeing or didn’t notice when he was taking his film.”

Some of the video and pictures are just of strange lights in the night sky — moving quickly. But some of the pictures Larry has sent to Booth’s website, www.ufocasebook.com are jaw-dropping.

“We haven’t been able to supply a lot of answers, and no one has because these objects have not been able to be identified,” Booth says.

Take for instance a bronze colored shape. It doesn’t look to be a plane.

Neither does a spectacular beacon of light moving within the clouds in the daytime.

“They cannot be explained by anything that we know of, or anything that’s flying today in our skies,” Booth proclaims.

He says he’s never seen a UFO himself, but believes the photos and video from Kaufman County are authentic.

There was something up there.

And he wants an answer from someone.

“There are so many of them that there aren’t really the resources or personnel to actually go out and further investigate these things,” he says.

There’s no shortage of people who might say this activity is military.

Strange reddish lights in a triangular pattern might be some experimental aircraft.

Some others might say they’re spacecraft.

Booth says the government is mum about these pictures, that his source, Larry doesn’t have a clue, and that he hopes someone has an idea.

“What is it? [Larry's] asking us. I don’t have an answer for him,” Booth says.

Every day studying these pictures and others from East Texas skies just deepens the mystery.

What might be looking on us from above?

Hello and welcome to another Anomaly Archives eNews Podcast. Last month I made the trek to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for the annual Ozark UFO Conference. I’d been wanting to attend this legendary event for some time and finally made it. The lectures and people rejuvinated my love of UFO conferences and anomalous studies. (See this issue’s Features section for a brief review of the lectures.)But what warmed my heart even more about the conference was that it became a sort of Austin MUFON Reunion for me and others. Austin MUFON alumni Monte and Ellen Stuart were in attendance – as I should have expected since they had always talked of attending so many of the past Ozark conferences. They moved to Illinois over four years ago and I’d not really interacted much with them since they left. Also present was Houston, Texas MUFONite Andy Abercrombie whose company is always entertaining. All of these old friends said they will likely be visiting Austin in June for the upcoming Anomaly Archives event, the Texas Ghost Lights Conference featuring Paul Devereux and other spook light researchers.

Lincoln Tribune ‘Letters to the Forum’-Many Have Taken Interest in UFOs
*
A number of notable UFO advocates have passed on in 2004, among them have been former President Ronald Reagan, astronaut Gordon Cooper, social worker Betty Hill, Harvard University psychiatrist Dr. John Mack, millionaire Laurance Rockefeller, England’s UFO Magazine publisher Graham W. Birdsall and diplomat and Flying Saucer Review Magazine publisher Gordon Creighton, also from England.

Ron and Nancy Reagan reported two UFO encounters, one while flying above California and one while driving down a California highway. President Reagan spoke on “the alien threat” in five of his last seven talks to various national and international organizations.

Astronaut Cooper chased UFOs while flying over Europe and later revealed movie films and still photographs taken of “a domed saucer with tripod landing gears” that landed in a restricted zone at Edwards Air Force Base in California. Cooper also testified on the reality of UFOs on a global scale during hearings on the subject before the United Nations (UN) in 1978.

Another key figure in ufology was Betty Hill, who was abducted and then given a physical examination, along with her husband Barney in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in 1961. A best selling book in twelve languages titled, “The Interrupted Journey” was followed by a NBC movie titled “The UFO Incident.”

Dr. John Mack of Harvard University won the Pulitzer Prize in biography with his biography of T.E. Laurence (Laurence of Arabia) in 1977. Psychiatrist Mack began to research and investigate purported extraterrestrial abductions in many global countries, as well as in the USA. As a result, he published two books on the UFO topic. They were titled, “Abduction” in 1994 and “Cosmos: Human Transformation and the Alien Encounters” in 1999.

Millionaire Laurance Rockefeller invested much of his funding on scientific studies of the physical evidence for UFOs, peer group reviews of UFO reports worldwide and published “The Best Evidence Available” which was mailed to world leaders on a global scale.

Graham Birdsall of England, a young man, who published the bi-monthly UFO Magazine, circulated worldwide at Barnes & Noble bookstores, also sponsored worldwide scientific UFO symposiums for a large number of years.

Another publisher and diplomat in England, who knew how to translate thirteen languages fluently and published the worldwide Flying Saucer Review quarterly for 55 years recently died. This journal is still being published and circulated monthly.

Psychologist Leo Sprinkle, shown in his office in Laramie on Friday, has worked with many Wyoming people who report experiences suggestive of reincarnation. Photo by Sarah Beth Barnett/Casper Star-Tribune.

LARAMIE — It seemed absurd.

A young man in the late 1960s asked University of Wyoming psychologist Leo Sprinkle for help with a phobia about dogs. Sprinkle thought perhaps a childhood memory would shed light on his fears. So Sprinkle hypnotized the man; but no such early memories emerged.

Sprinkle then asked the man to go back to the earliest memory associated with his fear of dogs. He landed in what seemed to be a life as a medieval woodsman who was attacked by wolves. Upon returning to the normal state, he shook Sprinkle’s hand and remarked, “Now I know why I’m afraid of dogs.”

“This is nonsense,” Sprinkle told himself. “But it’s helpful nonsense.”

A few days later, a 30-year-old woman asked Sprinkle to help her with an irrational fear of drowning. Again, under hypnosis, no childhood trauma was identified. She, too, was asked to recall her earliest memory related to a fear of drowning. She reported the experience of what seemed to be a pirate.

“The pirate was so obnoxious that his buddies keel-hauled him,” Sprinkle says.

Despite her obvious discomfort, the woman resisted returning to the normal state because she indicated she was learning something important. When the session ended, she thanked Sprinkle for helping her resolve her fear of drowning. In a later follow-up interview, the woman said she no longer feared drowning and had even taken swimming lessons.

Now the psychologist was intrigued. Maybe — just maybe — this wasn’t such nonsense after all.

“Intrigued” is a word Leo Sprinkle uses frequently. In some ways, he has built his career upon it. And at times, the subjects that have intrigued him have been unorthodox. His curiosity has taken him into such realms of inquiry as UFOs and reincarnation.

His interests in the offbeat also have cost him. As a professor at the University of Wyoming, Sprinkle says his colleagues thought he was “not only on the wrong path professionally, but also on the wrong path so far as the university was concerned.” So in 1989, after 25 years with UW, he left for private practice.

Sprinkle’s demeanor is friendly and his manner gentle. As he responds to questions, he frequently pops up from his chair to sort through reference books in order to correctly reflect the findings of Helen Wambach or Ian Stevenson and other reincarnation researchers. His laugh comes easily.

One model of reincarnation, Sprinkle says, suggests that the Creator is a huge ball of energy, out of which come the archangels, out of which come the angels, out of which come human beings. And Creation is expanding, learning and growing as a result of what we do.

“Some people say human souls are a spark of the divine flame,” Sprinkle says. “I like that kind of comment. It makes sense to me.”

The model also suggests the conditions for a life are set before birth, depending upon what tasks we need to learn, the projects we’ll be involved with and the causes to which we will be devoted.

What has been described variously as a chamber of beings, or a committee or council, helps create the conditions for a life, not in a punitive fashion, but after the manner of a exploration, or a questioning: “Are you going to be taking on too much by being a crippled, little old black lady — who’s a Jew,” Sprinkle laughs. “Maybe that’s more than you want to handle in one lifetime. Maybe you could take that on in two or three lifetimes.”

Of course, there are critics who believe the notion of reincarnation is ridiculous, perhaps even dangerous.

Past life experiences might be nothing more than products of an overactive imagination, they argue, forgotten influences from the past, simple lies or even memories not of one’s own past lives but from the lives of people now deceased. Some Christian denominations hold that brushes with “past lives” are the work of Satan.

“You haven’t been there,” counters Henrietta Songer of Sheridan. “You don’t know the experience.”

Songer seems to be a level-headed, 81-year-old great-grandmother who worked in the electronics industry in California and later was the controller of a road construction firm, where she was employed for over 20 years.

On her first trip to the Yucatan area of Mexico, while visiting Kabah, as she walked across a field and viewed a white archway, Songer says she got a powerful sense that she had been there before.

Subsequently, during her first regression session, Songer says instead of finding herself in New England or in Wales where her ancestors hailed from, she landed in Kabah, where she appeared to be a priest — “I mean, I was a hunk. Wow!” she laughs. She was clothed in sandals and a white garment, and was being transported on the shoulders of four men to the city of Tulum.

When asked to experience the end of that life, Songer says she saw herself inside a temple in Tulum, a shriveled little man hunched over in a corner.

“The best way I can describe it, it’s like a dream,” she says. “You’re seeing all these things, and it’s in technicolor. It’s like you were there and you’re in this other body.”

In another experience, Songer says she found herself in a setting previous to birth. There was a gathering of what she describes as “sort of gauzy” figures.

“I didn’t have anything to say about it,” she says, “and I didn’t want to come down and relive a life down here again. I was angry, I was frustrated, but there was nothing I could do about it.”

She says she has not experienced death during a regression. “At times, when I’ve been hurting pretty good, I feel like, man, let me go,” she says. “I don’t think I would ever take my life — it’s not my decision. Some of these guys who decided I needed to come down this time will tell me when I leave.”

In the Sheridan area, Songer says she personally knows 30 to 40 people who are interested in reincarnation, but due a fear of ridicule, “A lot of them don’t want to admit it.”

While belief in reincarnation might seem strange in Wyoming, for the entirety of mankind, it is anything but uncommon, spanning cultures from the Buddhists of Tibet to Indians of the Northwest Coast. Some argue a belief in reincarnation can even be found in early Christianity.

And contrary to a popular misconception, not everyone who reports evidence for a past life claims they were once Queen Cleopatra or Napoleon Bonaparte. In fact, according to Sprinkle, the research of Helen Wambach and others indicates most people, depending upon the time period, report living lower-class lives in villages under rather harsh conditions.

In addition, even though most participants in reincarnation sessions are women — Sprinkle’s figures show that of those who participate in workshops, two-thirds are female — Wambach found on average a nearly even split of male and female lifetimes reported.

Sprinkle also speculates that this life and reincarnation might not be part of a closed system; in other words, life could be present in many places throughout the universe and take many forms. On planet Earth, we are of a basic mammalian stock, but other places the intelligent species may be of insect, reptilian or even robotic in origin.

Over the years, Sprinkle and his wife, Marilyn, have worked with thousands of people in private sessions and in reincarnation workshops, not for the purpose of persuading, but for the purpose of seeking.

“I don’t try to convince people that what I know is true,” he says. “What I try to convince people is that I’m exploring and that I want to find out, and I want to be helpful to people who want to find out. And to me, that’s a pretty good motive.”
